Who we are
The Haven began life as Christian Care and Counsel in the 1980’s and gained charity status in 2000 to become The Haven.
We are a team of professional counsellors and therapists who volunteer time freely to The Haven.
The counsellors come from many differing theoretical and experiential backgrounds. They are individually accredited or working towards accreditation with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
As an organisation The Haven is accredited by ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors).
Counsellors and clients come from a wide area throughout the region covering Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire.
All therapeutic work is professionally supervised. All our team are DBS checked.
The Haven is overseen by voluntary Trustees and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
