How we work

If you think that counselling could help you, or you would like more information about The Haven, please email us at info@thehavenashby.org.uk or phone us on 01530 560921, leaving us a message with your name and telephone number. Messages are regularly checked by our management team and we will return your call.

In response to your request for counselling, we will email or send you a registration form. The information you provide on this form is strictly confidential. There is a one-off registration fee of £20 to help cover the administration costs and the initial assessment session. Please return the completed registration form by email, paying the £20 registration fee by BACs (bank transfer), or by post, enclosing the registration fee.

The assessment meeting will last for 50 minutes. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions you may have about counselling / therapy and for us to find out what your needs might be.

If you decide to go ahead with counselling, we will match you with one of our counsellors who can best meet your needs.

We understand that for some people private counselling, which typically costs around £55-65 per session, is not financially possible. At the assessment we will agree what you will contribute per session. Typical rates are £25 or more (depending on circumstances) for those in full-time work, £20 for those in part-time employment and £15 for those who are unwaged. If you are a tax payer you could also Gift Aid your donation.
