We often have opportunities for placement counsellors in training and volunteer counsellors and take on additional support throughout the year to meet demand. Relevant expenses are paid for all volunteers. We require you to complete an application form and provide references and proof of qualifications. You will then be invited for an interview. Following success in this and a successful enhanced DBS check, you will be offered a place on the team. Qualified counsellors are voluntary but The Haven will meet costs of one hour of supervision per month, up to a maximum of £55.

If you are offered a placement you will be required to fund your own supervision but travel expenses will be met within certain mileage. We are not able to offer in-house supervision.
Do you have a background in counselling or pastoral care? Would you like to improve the experiences of those seeking support? The Haven Counselling Service is looking for volunteer Trustees who would strengthen our board.
We are a low-cost, open ended counselling service with a Christian background and ethos. We are a registered charity and provide services in Loughborough and Ashby. We work with clients needing support for all reasons — childhood trauma, bereavement, relationship breakdown etc.
Trustee meetings take place every 2 months and are usually on Zoom. The trustees give guidance and support to the manager, decide on the direction of the Charity, provide financial oversight and ensure it complies with good governance.
